I WHAT TO KNOW FROM THE GROUP WE AS BAPTISTS WE HAVE BAPTIST WHO ARE PROTESTANTS?

Some say that Baptists are Protestant as a result of a man named William Whitsitt.

Jim Curran Some say that Baptists are Protestant as a result of a man named William Whitsitt- He promoted the theory that the Baptists came out of the English Seperatists who came out of Anglicanism. He also promoted the idea that the Anabaptists and the Baptists did not immerse until after 1651. This theory was thoroughly refuted by many including JT Christian in his book did they Dip?

This book demolished Whitsitt’s few and misquoted sources and shows ample evidence that his theories were not true. (actually there is another point to be made- probably the second most common execution for us after burning was drowning) We were never Protestant- that means you came out of the Catholic “church.” Christ and the Scripture promised perpetuity (Math 16:18, 28:20, Eph 3:21).
