When will the rapture happen??? Bill Taylor – Marriage Under Threat (successful-marriage.blogspot.com)
Jesus told us that not even He knew when He would be coming back because His Father had not told Him.Most references to “generation” in Psalms are to “all generations” which means forever as we humans think of time. There is neither marriage nor giving in marriage in heaven, however, so generations will stop when Christ’s thousand-year reign on earth ends.Psalm 105:8 specifies a specific number of generations unlike other verses which speak of “forever”:He hath remembered his covenant forever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations. Psalm 105:8New Testament writers spoke of the last days before Christ would come being in their time. They weren’t wrong, of course, because God’s view of time is not like ours:For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night. Psalm 90:4But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. II Peter 3:8If a generation is 20 years, a thousand generations is 20,000 years. Psalms was written maybe 5,000 years ago so we have 15,000 years, or 15 more days in God’s time. There’s another way to look at it. The New Jerusalem is a city “four square.”And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal. Revelation 21:1612,000 furlongs is about 1,500 miles, the distance from the east coast to West Kansas. Depending on how far apart the floors are, a cube that big that will hold a LOT of people. Could it be that Jesus won’t come until we Christians bring the Gospel to enough people to fill it?The Bible gives us a picture of the future:II Thessalonians 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; The Bible criticizes people who depend on “science falsely so called,(I Timothy 6:20-21)” but God has allowed scientists and astronomers to discover many facts of science which prove the divine nature of the Bible, particularly the Pentateuch. For example, Forbes pointed out that light was formed before matter and that there is more light in the universe than can be produced by all the stars. How did Moses know to write in Genesis 1:1-3 that light came first and in Genesis 1:16 that the stars didn’t come until day 4?There are many other recent scientific discoveries which support the Bible. Check out this 10-word theology for marriage:https://successful-marriage.blogspot.com/…/10-word…The section “The first three words” shows how discoveries in astronomy going back to Sir Isaac Newton confirm the Bible.
