FREE INDIVIDUAL STATE HISTORIES-
Previously I had listed general Baptist History books available online. When doing research state histories are often more specific. These are the ones I have found. In addition there are also many other histories of individual associations and churches available on www.archive.org (Not to mention individual biographies)
There is a tremendous amount of smaller historical pieces for states on Baptist History Homepage at http://baptisthistoryhomepage.com/histories.html (Canada is also on this page) More information is also available on their homepage http://baptisthistoryhomepage.com/ On these books below I have not reviewed each one- (with some exceptions) there may be issues with perpetuity in some of these but they are valuable resources. County histories found at www.archive.org or google books can be very valuable in finding histories of churches within the county. Look for the religion selection in the book. I have located churches whose location was forgotten and pieced together history when I used these in conjunction with my other Baptist history materials. (Find a Grave online is also useful in locating a former church cemetery) One other resource that I might mention that is not online but is very useful in regional use is your local library. They often have county histories (and even state or associational Baptist histories) that can be invaluable. The county histories will often have histories on churches that you will not find elsewhere.
