When I teach about the roles of men and women on Facebook, I usually get the same response from the group that the article or lesson is focusing on (though I write about non-specific people as groups). That response is a classic, “Yeah, but what about…”, a diversion that takes the spotlight off the one who has been touched by the article. We all do this in many different scenarios. However, no matter who does it or how often someone does it, it is an evasive tactic that will keep us from dealing with uncomfortable truths. Deflecting the spotlight onto someone else is not becoming to a child of God. Here are some words from Jesus that have a solution to the questions. “Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me. Then went this saying abroad among the brethren, that that disciple should not die: yet Jesus said not unto him, He shall not die; but, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee?” John 21:22,23What someone else does should never affect us or stop us from doing the will of God for us. We are to obey Him, if we are the only one doing so. “Let God be true and every man a liar.” We don’t follow the crowd, we follow Christ Jesus.
