A Day Of Decision – Joel 3:14b
“A Day Of Decision”
” … for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of deci-
sion.” Joel 3:14b
This is a picture that is set forth, dear friends, in literally
dozens of places in the Bible. God divides the world. God
divides the human race into two groups. They are not two
equal groups, for one is always large, and the other always
small. That was true in Noah’s day, when a large group was
destroyed by a flood and a small group was saved in the Ark.
That was true in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah, when a
large group was destroyed with fire and brimstone and a small
group was guided by an angel out of the judgment of God.
That was true when Jesus looked out at those who knew Him
during the days of His public ministry and said, “Fear not,
little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the
kingdom” (Luke 12:32). It was also true when He said,
“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate ,… and
narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be
that find it” (Matthew 7:13-14).
This is the case in our day; few are saved and multitudes
lost. This will be the case when our Lord Jesus shall return
from Heaven. Few, comparatively speaking, will be raptured
away; many shall be left behind to suffer the judgment of God.
No wonder the ancient prophet Joel cried; “Multitudes,
multitudes in the valley of decision: … ” (Joel 3:14a). – T.M.
