Cheever, Daniel.—Sept. 1, 1858, Daniel Cheever died at Delavan, Ill., in the eighty-ninth year of his age. He was born at Wrentham, Mass., Dec. 20, 1769. Though educated a Congregationalist, he was led, upon his conversion at the age of nineteen, by personal study of the Scriptures to adopt Baptist views, and presenting himself to the North Attleborough Baptist church, he was received and baptized. He removed to Illinois in 1857, uniting with the Delavan Baptist church in Tazewell County, of which he remained a member until his death. For sixty-nine years he had walked with God as a faithful member of a Christian church. From the Baptist Encyclopedia by William Cathcart
