A bit of history concerning where the name Palestine originated: In the year 135 AD Roman Emperor Hadrian defeated Israel in what is called the Bar Kokhba Revolt. It was after the conquest he renamed the province Syria Palaestina, and changed Jerusalem’s name to Aelia Capitolina. A pagan ruler is responsible for the name change and pagan historians cling to it.
