Daily Baptist Encyclopedia J.T Christian- (John Tyler) (Interesting to come across this snapshot of time. The Encyclopedia would have been written very early in J.T Christian’s ministry. J.T Christian would go on to write one of the best Baptist history books out there as well as the very thorough refutation “Did they Dip” of William Whitsitt’s erroneous theories of late Baptist origin. I am including links to electronic copies of his books.) Christian, Rev. J. T., a prominent young min- ister of Columbus Association, Miss., was born in Kentucky in 1854; began to preach in 1874; grad- uated at Bethel College, Ky., in 1876; became pastor at Tupelo, Miss., in 1877, and. supplied Verona at the same time; after two years he re- moved to West Point and engaged in his present work.
