“Leave It Alone!”
“Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever
is deceived thereby is not wise.” Proverbs 20:1
The Bible tells us very clearly that God forbids His people
having anything to do with drinking, selling, and serving
alcohol. If one out of nine that touch the stuff will end up an
alcoholic, then there will be a heap of Christian people playing
with alcohol that are going to wreck and ruin their lives, their
testimonies, their families, and their futures.
Why don’t they make the billboards show you the truth
about drinking? They don’t show the woman lying on the
floor with a black eye and the children hiding under the bed
crying. They don’t show you the mangled bodies and brains
strewn all over the highway. No, they put a nice, big sign up,
with the prettiest girl and the most handsome fellow they can
find, and show them drinking their brand of beer or liquor, like
they’re just having a wonderful time. Anybody would want to
look like them and be like them and have a good time. The
devil always wraps his packages in pretty paper, but he’s a liar.
You don’t want what he’s selling. He’s not telling the truth!
The Bible still says, “And be not drunk with wine, wherein
is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; ” (Eph. 5:18). – D.C.
