“Whose Approval Are You Seeking?”
“For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to
please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the
servant of Christ.” Galatians 1:10
God approves protecting human life, from conception.
God also approves protecting citizens through strong law
enforcement. God approves of weapons for self-defense.
God also approves secure borders and legal immigration.
The Bible also allows for reasonable taxation for
sustaining the protective power of government for those who
do good, as well as a strong military to protect from enemies
abroad, and guidelines for honest business dealings and
limited government control.
All people are supposed to work for their bread and for
sustaining God’s work. God’s Word also has much to say
about the economy, supply and demand, and the right to own
property and enjoy it without government oversight.
Government control should be limited, subject to God and
supportive of free enterprise. The word capitalism doesn’t
appear in the King James Bible, but the concept does!
Prosperity through integrity and hard work are basic in
God’s Word (see Gen. 39:3; Neh. 1:11; III John 1 and others.)
For instance, in the case that you have the opportunity to vote for
the leaders of your city, state or nation, follow this
principle-Vote for the person most likely to APPROVE what
God approves and likely to DISAPPROVE what God disproves. This principle makes the choice for candidates very easy for genuine Christians. “But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;”(II Tim. 3:14). – G.G.
