“We Are His!”
“Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are
yours; Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or
life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are
yours; And ye are Christ’s; and Christ is God’s.”

I Corinthians 3:21-23
Rejoice, O Christian in Christ! For you are His and He is
God’s! We have been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb and
adopted into the family of God!
The church in Corinth was being divided by their glorying
in men. Some were boasting of Paul, some of Apollos, and
others of Cephas. They were over-valuing men and the
glorying that should have been reserved for Christ was given
to their favorite preacher! These men were good men, but they
were men, nonetheless. The men were right in their teaching
and labors, the church was out-of-line in their “man worship.”
The men God uses are His ministers, but merely men. Each
have their own abilities, gifts, and own calling. They were all
on the same team, serving the same God!
The men that God uses, though differing in gifts and roles,
they’re for your benefit and spiritual growth. You may love
your “Paul,” but God has sent “Apollos” for your benefit. To
neglect to hear Cephas, because Apollos is your favorite, is
carnal and unwise! These men were all ministers, but not the
way to God. Jesus Christ is “the way, the truth, and the life.”
Rejoice and love ministers sent by God, remembering we are
Christs! You belong to Jesus, not man! -E.M.
