“I Need An Answer”
” … Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered
into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for
them that love him.” I Corinthians 2:9b
Does God have a body? Stephen saw Jesus standing at His
right hand. The writer to the Hebrews said He was sitting at
God’s right hand. Did He move? My next question is, does a
spirit have a right or left hand? In Revelation 6, the martyred
saints in Heaven cried out to Jesus, “How long till our
persecutors be avenged?” (See Rev. 6:10). Jesus’ answer in
verse 11 was “a little season, ” and He gave them white robes.
Can a spirit wear a robe? After our Lord’s resurrection, did He
ascend to Heaven the same day? Mary couldn’t touch Him in
the morning because he had not yet ascended to the Father.
That was no problem in the evening! Eight days later, Thomas
was invited to touch Him. Jesus ate boiled fish and
honeycomb with His disciples. The liberals have always
claimed it to be “spiritual” food. Next question, “How does
one broil a spiritual fish?” Did Jesus ascend into Heaven with
a physical body? Zechariah, God’s prophet said Jesus will be
as He was in Heaven. He had wounds in His hands, not scars,
open wounds (See Zech. 13:6). Revelation 21, shows God
sending down a new Heaven and a new Earth. Apparently,
they will be compatible, for Heaven declares God will be in a
tabernacle (that’s what I’m in) and he will dwell among men.
Charles A. Tindley (1851-1933) the freed slave and great
hymn writer wrote “We’ll Understand It Better By and By.”
