Looking to Win a Heart – Hebrews 10:24

“Looking to Win a Heart”
“And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and
to good works:” Hebrews 10:24
The goal of every believer should be to have influence in
the life of others for the glory of God. If you are going to have
any influence in other’s lives, you must first win their heart. A
well-known sentiment states, People don’t care what you
know, until they know how much you care! Solomon said,
“My son, give me thine heart.
Look at the life of Absalom as he stole the hearts of the
men of Israel. In II Samuel 15:1-6, Absalom stole men’s heart
with evil intent; however, we can ask God to help us win hearts
that we might influence them for the Lord ..
First, we see Absalom’s AIM! “And Absalom rose up
early, and stood beside the way of the gate.”
Second, we see Absalom’s ATTENTION! “And it was so,
that when any man that had a controversy came to the king for
judgment, then Absalom called unto him, and said, Of what
city art thou?” Everyone spells love the same way: T.I.M.E.
Third, he was APPROVING. Verse 3 says, “See, thy
matters are good and right.”
Fourth, winning hearts consists of being ACCESSIBLE.
Sly Absalom opined, “Oh that I were made judge in the land,
that every man which hath any suit or cause might come to me,
and I would do him justice!” (vs.4).
You can have influence in a young person’s life long after
he has left your home, Sunday school class or youth group, if
you learn how to win a heart for God. The influence you will
have is effective when you win a heart. – C.B.
