“How To Know You Are Saved”
“Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. “
Matthew 7:20
First, a changed life! Paul wrote, “Therefore if any man be
in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away;
behold, all things are become new.” (II Cor. 5:17) Listen, if
the faith you seem to proclaim has not changed you, it
probably hasn’t saved you! Salvation is accompanied by
change!! Think about it!
Second, a changed attitude! An attitude adjustment
concerning sin is surely on the menu for the redeemed (see
Romans 7:13). Also, your bearing and behavior toward God,
church, righteousness, holiness, the family of God, the Bible
and the world will be greatly impacted by the new birth
enjoyed by the child of God!
Let me ask, if while reading the above, have you attempted
to convince yourself that you are saved? Do you ever try to
affirm the fact that you are married? Friend, you have a ring
on your finger and a mate by your side. The convincing is in
the fact of the evidence on you and around you! According to
Romans 8:16, it is the Spirit of God that bears witness with our
spirit that we are God’s blood-bought child! When God knows
you are His, you will too! I have some friends suffering from
dementia and they don’t even know who or where they are, but
in the deepest depths of their redeemed souls, the Holy Spirit
tells them they are His and nothing can change what God
knows about your redemption! When the blood of Jesus
Christ cleanses a sinner, “though your sins be as scarlet, they
shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson,
they shall be as wool. ” (Isa. 1:18b). I’m banking on the blood
