“Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we
shall be saved from wrath through him.” Romans 5:9

“We Are So Saved!”
“Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we
shall be saved from wrath through him.” Romans 5:9
Obviously, we were all lost sinners, for “all have sinned”
(Rom. 5:12b). Those of us who have trusted Christ as Saviour
have been reconciled to God by the death of His Son (see Rom.
5:10). Since, we are reconciled, “we shall be saved by his
life” (10b).
Verse 14 of Romans 5 speaks of Adam’s transgression that
plunged and portrayed all his progeny as sinners at birth! So,
we all were totally lost, because we were in Adam.
Conversely, those of us that are saved are totally saved,
because we are in Christ. Paul wrote in verse 11, “we also joy
in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now
received the atonement.”
An interesting couple of words in today’s text are “Much
more then … ” I infer from then that we are much more saved
than when weever were lost! Since we were so lost, if we died
that way, Hell would be our portion and rightfully so.
However, now, in Christ we are so far more redeemed,
reconciled, and regenerated that we could never be unsaved!
Friend, obviously now being un-lost (if that’s a word) by
trusting Christ as Saviour, you surely cannot ever … get
unsaved! I love this verse, “But God commendeth his love
toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for
us” (Rom. 10:8). Brother, we are “so saved” we will never get
over it!! Once more, with effect, “And this is the record, that
God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son” (I
John 5:11). Also, ” … that ye may know that ye have eternal
life ,… ” (I John 5:13b). We have a “know so” salvation. – T.G.
