“Growing Oaks Or Raising Squash?”

“Growing Oaks Or Raising Squash?”
“Train up a child in the way he should go … “
Proverbs 22:6a
Augustus Strong, a 19″ century theologian, shared a story
about a student asked if he could take a shorter course. Strong
replied, “When God wants to make an oak, He takes a hundred
years, but when He wants to make a squash, He takes six
months.”
When it comes to preparing future leaders for our homes,
churches and communities it is not very difficult to see the
value of training young people in a scriptural atmosphere and
with a basic foundation in the rule of law. The hijacking of our
educational system in America has resulted in a culture
change, for Bible reading and prayer are not allowed. This has
created a huge “swamp” in Washington, D.C. There is an
effort to divide our citizens and bring in socialism and
communism. In contrast, 3rd world countries have appealed
to, and cooperated with Christian ministries to place a Bible in
the hands of every student. They understand something that
the elite in our government do not see. For, without the Bible
and prayer I fear that America will become a “second-class”
country and turn to socialism or worse. An antichrist spirit has
developed, with a goal of dismantling our constitution,
pushing for the right to kill babies, disrespecting our flag,
destroying the foundation of the home, and other anti-biblical
relationships. When the protesters and some political leaders
are questioned by the media, it is easy to see that we are raising
squash and NOT growing oaks. – T.W.
