“Men’s Socks Verse”
“Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you….” James 4:8a
Men’s socks usually come in the ambiguous guise of “one size fits all.” Sometimes they say, “Size 9 to 14” and that is quite a gap between normal and “big foot!” Our verse today and really most of the Bible could be classified as “one size fits all.” I know there are verses about relations between husband and wife or pastor and flock, but most “pigeon hole” or “nail” all of us and are relatable no matter our gender, race or place, for the grace of God has been abundantly spread and shed abroad in our lives. James said if you will draw closer to God, He will draw in closer to you. Think of it this way. What if since you have been saved, you have strayed from the narrow way and backslid. If you would repent and begin to return to a right relationship with God, He would surely move in your direction. I earnestly believe if one starts his steps in return to God and His favor, the Lord will meet you more than half way, due to the fact that He takes bigger steps than we do. And His love has never waned and perhaps ours does. Remember: the Prodigal’s father saw him, had compassion and ran to him and kissed him! (Luke 15:20). Praise God, we have a far better Father than the prodigal’s. — T.G.
