“Accidental” discoveries. I have traveled a lot and “accidentally” came across a lot of history. We went out of town Saturday and pulled off to get something to eat. We missed the McDonald’s somehow and continued on a little ways to turn around. I the process we drove right by the cemetery that Daniel and Squire Boone’s parents Squire and Sarah were buried. (as well as Daniel’s brother Israel) The elder Squire and Sarah were Quakers as was the family going back. While Daniel’s religion was rather ambiguous, Squire Boone Jr would become a Baptist Preacher and many other generations would follow. I have came across several stories that indicate that the elder Squire basically “excommunicated” Squire Boone Jr when he became a Baptist preacher. Squire Boone Jr would be the the first Baptist preacher in Kentucky and possibly in Indiana (little bit of question on timing there) For more information on the Boones
