Snapshots from my library 9- Thomas Armitage History of the Baptists This is a must have for any Baptist history library. Armitage wrote one of the most comprehensive general histories out there. It is especially rich in several areas including an entire chapter on baptistries showing immersion, as well as missionary efforts in the early to mid 1800’s. There are a lot of obscure tidbits in this. My copy is a reprint that was done in the 70’s by Baptist Bible College when they had a press for a short time. Unfortunately this was in a box that took water damage while in storage. Fortunately unlike many others in the box- this was spared from mold. However the moisture damaged the spine somewhat. It was purchased years ago at ABC books in Springfield Missouri. Baptist Standard Bearer offers reprints in softcover or hardback. https://www.standardbearer.org/…/2-volume-set-a…/ (Their reprints are reliable unlike the other modern scanners/reprinters) An free electronic version is at https://archive.org/details/HistoryOfTheBaptists/mode/2upBook Reviews-SnapShots-Info – Jim Curran
