Nov 8, 2016 – Word of the Year 2016 is… After much discussion, debate, and research, the Oxford Dictionaries Word of the Year 2016 is post-truth — an adjective defined as ‘relating to or denoting circumstances in which objective facts are less influential in shaping public opinion than appeals to emotion and personal belief.In other words: ‘A culture of Post-Truth may willfully and justifiably convey something false, (as a truth, aka Post-Truth); not in the overhead definition) because it accomplishes a personal or end goal: the end justifies the means, which do not need to justify themselves’.
