There will be a little bit of time before the next two tragic parts come out on the 14th and the 19th but I wanted to take a moment to give folks where they can find more information on the War. I did pull mainly out of these sources with a few additional secular sources. Paschal’s History of the North Carolina Baptist was my primary source for much of this series. He also researched from many sources. This is a two volume set and splits the story among the two volumes. The history of Sandy Creek is covered in Volume one along with the initial Regulation movement and the Battle of Alamance. Volume 2 covers Tryon’s war of attrition after the battle. Both these are available free for download and have much of value to read as the impact of the Separate Baptist movement spread all throughout the south and further. Volume one https://archive.org/…/historyofnorthca…/page/n5/mode/2upVolume two https://archive.org/…/historyofnorthca…/page/n3/mode/2upI also used America in Crimson Red (available from Prairie Fire Press) There is a chapter on the War there that is excellent. The whole book is excellent! I addition I used Saints and Sinners- the story of Jersey Baptist Church- but did not find it very well researched I secular source on the subject that gives a great deal of information is Some Neglected History of North Carolina. It does not delve into the religious nature of the war as much however. https://archive.org/…/someneglected…/page/n8/mode/2up…
