Roger Fulk  … I never learned anything about Calvinism until about five years ago, in 2014, when I started my serious studies.

In the inside notes page of my old Schofield, which a Deacon in the Church recommended, which I’ve had since 1980 is the TULIP but no more than that. Someone started teaching it or warning against it, but I can’t remember who or when or what exactly. They never continued and I never studied anything more at the time! That’s back when I became an independent Baptist at Marantha Baptist Church in Malta, NY around 1980,  and have been an Independent Baptist ever since. I was brought up in the Church of the Brethren, Oakley, Illinois (but not Chicago … LOL…) and never heard any of that stuff. Both of our sons went to Christian School and my son Scott remembers studying about Calvinism in the Christian school and said it was from a historical ‘warning’ context. MY Pastor Charlie Ball is among the few Pastors I know personally who understands how bad Calvinism is. We are preaching the entire counsel of God and it is not very popular!

My answer to a question to someone several years ago … can’t remember who now! It might have been a Calvinist. You got that right! Like I said, ” I see an interesting parallel between Liberal Theology and Secular liberalism, Liberalism is a Mental Disorder. It is very simple …..WHOSOEVER John 3:16.” I have worked around highly educated people most of my life in one of the lowest Bible minded areas in the country, since 1971, after getting out of submarine service in Groton, Connecticut and moved to the to one of the lowest Bible minded areas, (Albany/Schenectady/Troy NY area, as per Barna Research). I see it all the time …. I was born and raised on a farm in one of the highest Bible minded areas in the country (Champaign Urbana/Decatur/Springfield Illinois) until going into the Navy in 1965. There are some very interesting differences in these two major areas that I would be glad to discuss sometime. Some people would not be very happy to listen! I know that from experience already! Sometimes I think I stayed out east when I got out of the Navy as a missionary to bring some mid-western ways here!
