“A Door Of Hope” Hosea 2:15
“A Door Of Hope”
“And I will give her her vineyards from thence, and the valley ofAchor for a door of hope: ” Hosea 2:15a
Sad to say, some churches in our land are just a few funerals away from closing their doors; however, these same churches could be just a few “new” births away from the greatest and most blessed days of revival they have ever known! Your church was and is placed strategically in a community that needs to hear the Gospel of God’s grace broadcast loudly, firmly, faithfully and lovingly, addressing the “lost-ness” of your neighborhood. Friends, lost people are not concerned or better yet, it is not even on their “radar screen” all the nuances of our faith. They just need to be confronted with the dire straits they are in without Christ and be introduced to the Saviour, their only hope out of the mess of their lives.
The word Achor means trouble. The door of hope is to be opened to people in trouble, who need to meet the only “One” Who can help them. My father used to often say, “Trouble is a man’s best friend.” Trouble causes people in a hopeless, degenerate, devil-possessed world to recognize their desperate situation and seek hope! Jesus Christ is, was and always will be the hope of the world.
How about we stop making funeral arrangements and start making new birth announcements; you could be just a few new converts away from a church- changing and earthshaking revival!
The last part of Hosea 2:15 speaks of a song of joy and the exuberance of youth as in the days of one’s deliverance out of Egypt! — T.G.
