“Faint Not”

“Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; … “II Corinthians 4:1 &2 a

The Bible commands us, Faint Not! When somebody faints, they did not get knocked out, they gave up consciousness. If I hit you with a ball bat, you didn’t faint. I knocked you out! I took consciousness from you with a blow. For you to faint means you saw something or experienced something you did not like and did not want to face, and because of that, you gave up. There are a lot of folks who experience things they don’t like; they see things they don’t like. Some hurt or disappointment, some pressure put upon them by family or friends, and they give up some things. Some have had standards and convictions and gave them up. If I have true convictions, then I can’t give them up. I don’t have standards just because my church has standards or because the preacher says so. I have standards because the Bible teaches standards. I’m convinced that the Word of God is true; that is not a book of man—it’s the Book of God! Because of that, regardless of where I am, or who I’m with or what has hurt me, I have the same standard because my standard finds its roots in my personal conviction, not in the conviction of somebody else. And my conviction finds its roots in the Word of God. — D.C.
