7h  · Snapshots from my library 16- A Concise History of Baptists- OrchardThere is a definite need for Baptist Histories large and small. Let’s face it most people will not sit down and read a work the size of the histories of Armitage, Christian or others. That is where this work falls- a compact history that is far more comprehensive than a booklet like the Trail of Blood yet compact enough to be readable and not overwhelming. I probably need to reread Orchard as it has been quite a while since I last read it- but I remember enjoying the book very much. It is written on an understandable level. There have been quite a few reprints of this over time- it seems like a lot have been made with a really thin paperback cover. That is what mine has.
