The Preface to the NASB states: ‘The American counterpart of this last work was published in 1901 as the American Standard Version. Recognizing the values of the American Standard Version, the Lockman Foundation felt an urgency to update it…Therefore, in 1959 a new translation project was launched, based on the ASV. The result is the New American Standard Bible…The American Standard Version (1901)…has frequently been used as a standard for other translations…’ The ASV was first revised in 1952 and published as the RSV (Revised Standard Version). Due to its openly liberal connections and biases, it was largely rejected by fundamentalists and evangelicals. But what many do not realize is that this whole line of so-called Bibles is corrupt! The root (i.e. ASV/RV) itself is sick.
