John Word · 11/28/21 · God promised to preserve His pure words not lexicons. All a lexicon does is give a lists of possible meanings for a particular word and differing lexicons have varying lists of possible meanings for the same word. Context determines the correct meaning and the lexicon doesn’t address the context. There is no need to use a lexicon to get “deeper understanding”. The KJB is fully sufficient on its own. The KJB is the written authority not the lexicon. Here is an example in English where the context defines the word. The word we will use is “back”.
- I will be back. This means I will return.
- My back hurts. This means I have a pain on the dorsal aspect of my body.
- Back the car into the driveway. This means to drive the car into the driveway with the rear going first.
