Mansions Yes!! – John 14:2
“Mansions Yes!!”
“In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not
so, I would have told you. ” John 14:2
David Brainerd (1718-1747) the great missionary to the
native Indians of America wrote:
“My soul will be astonished at the unsearchable
riches of divine grace when I arrive at the mansions, which the
blessed Saviour has gone before to prepare.”
I heard a well-known radio preacher say that we
fundamentalists will be surprised when we get to Glory and
find that we will only have rooms to dwell in. I think I’ll stay
with Brainerd’s report and the fifty plus brilliant men that gave
us the King James Bible! I also read a recent report that
another “version-of-the-month” said that we will dwell in
tents! I’m sure the Algonquin Indians Brainerd preached to
would wonder why God would put a teepee in His house! To
be real transparent with you, I really don’t plan on spending a
lot of time in my mansion in the first place. There will be
loved ones to meet, famous and non-descript Christians of the
past that I want to meet and hear their testimonies, and of
course, spend eons of time worshipping at the feet of our
Saviour!! By the way, I think we will be busy doing our
Father’s wise bestowment of our eternal duties, rejoicing at
being able to serve Him, love Him and worship Him!
Remember: Jesus Christ said, “I go to prepare a place for
you. ” And I don’t think the Carpenter that he was will be
building lean-tos or tents! -T.G.
