Cain, Rev. Moses Powel, was born in Jefferson Co., Ga., Aug. 7, 1836. His father, James Cain, was a South Carolinian and a distinguished deacon. His mother was a woman of great piety, and thus it happened that he was reared in the fear of God. In 1856 he graduated at Penfield, having been converted during his college course. For several years after graduating, Mr. Cain taught school; he was ordained in 1859, and from that time to the present he has been engaged in teaching, preaching, and farming.
