Without Mercy and Truth-No God! Hosea 4:2
“Without Mercy and Truth-No God!”
“By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and
committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth
blood.” Hosea 4:2
Hosea said that they did not have any mercy and they
didn’t have any truth, thus, there is bloodshed, and adultery,
and killing, and stealing. Every man for himself! Without
truth, I have no absolutes. Without mercy, I have no regard for
people. When that happens you have a society out of control,
and that’s about where we are today in America.
The unjust judge, (Luke 18) had no mercy on the widow
and he had no regard for truth. The Bible says he feared not
God, neither regarded any man. What does that mean? He
didn’t have any mercy and he didn’t have any truth. He didn’t
care about the woman and didn’t care about God. He didn’t
operate under any final authority. It didn’t matter to him what
was right and wrong. It didn’t matter to him what happened to
the woman. He didn’t care at all.
Then, there are some that have mercy and truth. When we
unite these two, we are going to act like the Lord. This is what
fundamentalism is, truth that is administered in mercy. Jesus
administered truth in mercy. He never compromised truth, but
He was always merciful, to Nicodemus, to the woman at the
well, to the woman taken in adultery. He said, “Neither do I
condemn thee; go, and sin no more. ” “Neither do I condemn
thee.” That’s mercy. “Go and sin no more.” That’s truth. He
said, “Don’t keep doing what you’ve been doing. I’ve been
merciful to you.” Go and do thou likewise! -D.C.
