Cartwright, Rev. Immanuel, was born in Tennessee. He removed to St. Louis in 1854, and became pastor of the First African church, a posi- tion which he held efficiently for twenty years. Large additions were made to the membership, till it numbered over a thousand. He is awaiting the appointed time for the Master’s call to his eternal home.
