Case, Rev. Isaac.—’ was born at Rehoboth, Mass., Feb. 25, 1761. At the age of eighteen he became a subject of God’s converting grace. He was ordained in 1783, and went to Maine. He was, in the best sense of the word, an evangelist, and when converts to Christ were made, he formed them into churches, some of which after- wards became able and most useful organizations. “Of the number of converts to whom he adminis- tered the ordinance of baptism, he kept no account, but he supposed them to have been more than a thousand.’’ Mr. Case lived to an advanced age, and died at Readfield, Me., Noy. 3, 1852. Without remarkable talents, by his earnest piety and good common sense he became one of the most useful ministers of his day. From the Baptist Encyclopedia by William Cathcart photos from findagrave (Dale Potter Clark)NOTE: The North Manchester Church which he founded had originally set on the site of the Case Cemetery where he is buried. The congregation voted to move the church building closer to their homes and when Isaac died he was fittingly buried in the location of where the pulpit had stood.
