“Creepers!”
“For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were
before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men,
turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying
the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.” Jude 1:4
The phrase crept in unawares means they slipped in
secretly or got in by a side entrance. These men know how to
slide in “under-the-radar.” They come in the side door of the
church, lurking around to find someone weak in the faith.
Jude calls these men out in our verse by highlighting their
deception, defilement, deeds and denial.
These men of apostacy have been around for a long time.
Their goal is to counterfeit, change and corrupt what is holy.
They do this by changing the music, the message, the methods
and the mindset of a church. Apostates don’t like the words
and phrases such as whosoever, fundamentalism, old-
fashioned or even King James only! Why? Because they
define our doctrines, beliefs, convictions and principles of
faith.
One cannot afford to be silent in these days. We must not
allow the mockers of old-time religion to silence our mission.
Remember, we are the ones who have the truth and the truth
must be upheld. Apostates may flourish, but eventually, they
will fail because there is no substance to their message. The
fundamentals of the faith have always been under attack by
apostates; however, they come and go, while these truths still
stand. After being saved for thirty-five years, I’m still happy to
say that I know the truth, and that I grew up in the OLD TIME
WAY! -R.G.
