The woman’s friends, who often quarreled with their husbands, were continuously amazed by her and frequently sought her advice: Tell us – they would say – your husband is no saint, yet you live together harmoniously. How can we also live without fighting with our husbands? You see – the woman replied – you are to blame for those quarrels yourselves. When your husbands angrily say something to you, you immediately get angry and respond with anger. When I see that my husband is angry, I never provoke him but pray to the God to restore peace and tranquility in my husband’s heart. When my husband sees that I do not contradict him and have no intention of fighting, he calms down. After all, God Himself teaches us not to repay evil with evil. These are not empty words, and peace in the family is won with a quiet struggle over oneself…
