Martin Luther (1483-1546) German Reformer who Advocated Murder. Especially the ANABAPTISTS Along with John Calvin (1509-64) and the Rest of Them. So Sad. What’s Wrong with these Reformers? The Reformers needed more Reforming!

Post Courtesy of: “David Jackson”Martin Luther Recommends Death Penalty for the Book of James We should throw the epistle of James out of this school, for it doesn’t amount to much. It contains not a syllable about Christ. Not once does it mention Christ, except at the beginning. I maintain that some Jew wrote it who probably heard about Christian people but never encountered any. Since he heard that Christians place great weight on faith in Christ, he thought, ‘Wait a moment! I’ll oppose them and urge works alone.’ This he did. (Martin Luther, sermon)As he was wont to do throughout his life, Martin Luther’s preferred solution to what he regarded as doctrinal difficulties found in the Book of James was to eradicate it. He did the same to Anabaptists:I assent [to executing Anabaptists]. Although it seems cruel to punish them with the sword, it is crueler that they condemn the ministry of the Word and have no well-grounded doctrine and suppress the true and in this way seek to subvert the civil order. (Luther, in a PS he affixed to the above memorandum written by Melanchthon, in which Melanchthon wrote that the Anabaptists should be killed:) And to Jews:[Final line of final sermon] … but if they [the Jews] refuse [to convert], we should we should neither tolerate nor suffer their presence in our midst” The humorous irony of Luther pejoratively suggesting that the Book of James was written by “some Jew” is that it of course was written by a Jew, namely James, one of Mary’s sons and a legal brother of Jesus (Matthew 13:55, Matthew 17:1, Mathew 27:56, etc.). {Note to Martin: Mary was also Jewish.}
