“Discord to Disunity”
“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to
dwell together in unity!” Psalm 133:1
Disunity destroys the church of the Lord Jesus Christ more
than anything else. The church is stripped of her power. She’s
been left a helpless cripple while disunity in the church breaks
the very heart of God. I wouldn’t be surprised if the angels of
Glory often lean over the battlements of Heaven and literally
sob and cry over the disunity among God’s saints today. What
a shame and reproach to Almighty God.
The Wise Man, Solomon, said in Proverbs chapter 6,
“These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an
abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and
hands that shed innocent blood. An heart that deviseth wicked
imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false
witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among
brethren.”
God hates discord above every other problem among
believers. Oftentimes, this is done by a half truth that is worse
than a whole lie. Usually, it’s done by an individual who acts
as pious as Lucifer on the morning of his fall. They pretend
they wouldn’t do anything wrong. They wouldn’t say “sooey”
if the hogs were eating them! They go around looking for a
clean place to spit. They begin to whisper here, hint a little
there and it isn’t long until they’ve filled their listener’s ears
with enough garbage to contaminate the whole church. God
hates that sort of thing! – K.M.
