“What Do You Think?”
“And as it is appointed unto men once to die ,… “
Hebrews 9:27a
I have read off and on about people having their brains
cryogenically frozen, paying tens of thousands of dollars to do
so and believing some day to be transplanted into donor bodies
and thus keep on living. Let me give those few of you reading
this that believe in such a fantasy, one fact, for every birth,
there will be one death! Besides that fatalistic factoid, you are
going to be dead far longer than you will be alive! Have a
good day!
My title is about as unimportant as last year’s turkey on
Thanksgiving Day or the tinsel that was on your Christmas
tree. What you and I think about any spiritual or eternal matter
is irrelevant. It is what God says that controls the throttle on
the considerations and consequences of life. Many are as
hypocritical as the man who complains about murder and
indecency while he’s watching television! There is one
immutable fact about God-there is no hypocrisy in how He
handles things. When Abraham was dickering with God over
how many righteous men there were in Sodom, the whole
thing came down to this profound, resonating statement:
“Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?” (Gen. 18:25).
Oh, and by the way, God says in the rest of our verse today,
” … but after this the judgment.” And another by the way, if a
man died lost and had had his brain frozen, by now the real
“him” has thawed out!
The old, sometimes laughed at cartoon is all too
true-REPENT OR PERISH! “There is a way that seemethright unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” It
is so important God said it twice, Pro. 14:12 & 16:25. – T.G.
