How Should We Treat Others?”
“And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to
himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of
reconciliation;” II Corinthians 5:18
When you take inventory of your own life and the wonders
of the reconciliation enjoyed as beneficiaries of the gift of
salvation “by Jesus Christ, ” it ought to greatly help you to be
reconciled with others that have lied about you, sinned against
you or any other mistreatment one could imagine. If one
could honestly recount or register all the iniquity, sin, trespass
etc. of their own lifetimes, and after experiencing the
cleansing by Christ’s blood in salvation, thus, understanding
the need of treating others with grace, forgiveness and
reconciliation … always! Why hold a grudge, when you could
forgive and forget? You know, like God for Christ’s sake has
forgiven you, and forgets divinely! Since God has forgiven
you and “that God was in Christ, reconciling the world … not
imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto
us the word ofreconciliation” (vs. 19), we then are reconciled
or may I put it in a term of today’s vernacular-a soul winner!
Verse 20 says we are “ambassadors for Christ, ” so we go to a
lost world in His place and tell others of His amazing grace so
freely provided.
How should we treat others? How should we look upon
others’ needs? I think we should see others as opportunities
for us to be Christ-like, kind and giving forth the saving
Gospel of Christ to any and all. – T.G.
