“Faith, Family & Friends”
” … and a threefold cord is not quickly broken. “
Ecclesiastes 4:12b

If one has enough faith in God that it impacts his family
and that forges the anvil of great friends in life, he has been
supremely successful.
The birth of faith in an individual is the bequeathment of
Deity. Hebrews 12:2 reads in part, “Looking unto Jesus the
author and finisher of our faith.” All that Jesus Christ
passionately procured on Calvary was done “that we might be
partakers of his holiness” (vs. 10). Christ imparts this faith
into our family and the wiseman wrote, “Thine own friend,
and thy father’s friend, forsake not” (Pro. 27:10).
This familiar relationship has long arms that reach out
across the decades and embrace loved ones that loved our
loved ones! This is explored by love one for another, “every one
that loveth is born of God,” (I John 4:7b) and expanded by,
“Beloved, now are we the sons of God, ” (I John 3:2a). Our love for
others is based on the bedrock of our love for God and His for us.
Thankfully, there is a long line of friendship promised to
the child of God. There is the friend that sticks like glue and
binds our hearts together, even closer than family ties (see Pro.
18:24). There is also the firm assurance that there is a friend
that loves us all the time, “and a brother is born for adversity”
(Pro. 17:17).
Frankly and gratefully, Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of
faith, the foundation of the Christian family and the epitome of
a forever Friend! -T.G.
