Teaching the Bible Through 150 Questions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

INTRODUCTION<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

These 150 questions get people thinking about Christianity.  Jesus asked questions so His disciples would think.  There are 4 questions every Christian should be able to answer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who is Jesus to you?<\/strong>  Jesus most vital<\/em> question was, \u201cBut whom say ye that I am? (Mt. 16:15, Mk. 8:29, Lk. 9:20)\u201d  The Apostle Peter answered, \u201cThou art the Christ, the Son of the Living God (Mt. 16:16, Mk. 8:29).\u201d  That<\/em> is the most important question for everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where do you find truth?<\/strong>  Many stopped following Jesus (Jn. 6:66).  Jesus asked, \u201cWill ye also go away (Jn. 6:67)?\u201d  Peter replied, \u201cLord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life (Jn. 6:68).\u201d  Christians know that only Jesus<\/em> spoke truth about eternal life and that we must cling to Him and to His Words (Mk. 8:38, Lk. 9:26).  We must persuade people that the Bible is worthy of honor, respect, study, and obedience because it\u2019s from God (2 Cor. 5:11).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why did they want to kill Jesus?<\/strong>  Jesus did not sin, He healed, He fed people, and He taught truth.  Knowing why<\/em> the religious authorities killed Him explains most of government.  There are only<\/em> two sides: Jesus\u2019 and Satan\u2019s (Mt. 12:30, Lk. 11:23).  If someone doesn\u2019t show the good fruit of being on Jesus\u2019 side, we judge that they\u2019re on Satan\u2019s side (Mt. 7:15-20) from their bad fruit.  Many governments try to destroy churches and Christians \u2013 Satan hates Jesus and His people, so Satan\u2019s people hate us (Jn. 15:18, 25).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do you have an Attitude of Gratitude?<\/strong>  Moses warned<\/em> that the Jews would be carried into captivity unless they loved God with grateful hearts<\/em> with thanks for everything<\/em> He gave them:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because thou servedst not the LORD thy God with joyfulness<\/p>\n\n\n\n

, and with gladness of heart<\/p>\n\n\n\n

, for the abundance of all things<\/p>\n\n\n\n

God\u2019s People didn\u2019t love God, they didn\u2019t appreciate the blessings He had given them, so He took everything<\/em> away.  They were in want of \u201call things.\u201d  If we aren\u2019t grateful for what God gives, He may take it away, but we often take His gifts for granted.  \u201cWe never miss the water \u2018til the well runs dry.\u201d   Teach an Attitude of gratitude!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You may use this material in any way that spreads the Gospel.  The fruits have shown that it\u2019s an effective way to \u201cteach all nations.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SHOWING THAT THE BIBLE IS GOD\u2019S WORD<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Fulfilled prophecy shows that the Bible came from God.  4,000 years ago, God told the Jews that if they disobeyed His law, they would be \u201cplucked from off the land \u2026 And the LORD shall scatter thee among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other; (De. 28:63b-64)\u201d   God also prophesied that the Jews would be gathered back into Israel (Zec. 10:8) and accept Jesus as Messiah (Zec. 12:10-14).  They haven\u2019t all been gathered into Israel yet, but the survival of the Jews as a people is a testimony to God\u2019s power.   Generations of tyrants have tried to exterminate them, but DNA analysis of those claiming Jewish descent shows that they have survived not only as a set of beliefs but as a distinct genetic group.  Many books explain other fulfilled prophecies of God\u2019s Word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bible\u2019s honesty shows that it\u2019s not from men.  It describes Noah\u2019s drunkenness, David\u2019s adultery and murder, and many more sins.  Human authors tend to speak well of their main characters, but Daniel is the only major character for whom we aren\u2019t told about sin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scientific accuracy shows that God wrote the Bible.  God\u2019s purpose is to explain how to go to Heaven and not to tell us how the heavens go, but when it speaks on science, it\u2019s accurate.  Ec. 1:5-7 describe jet streams and the rainfall cycle which wasn\u2019t understood until the 20th<\/sup> century.  Jet streams weren\u2019t discovered until after WW I when airplanes flew high enough to find them.  Job 38:16 describes the \u201csprings of the sea,\u201d but we had no way to know about the fresh-water springs on the ocean floor until recently.  Job 38:24 says that light creates wind.  Scientists took years to find out that wind is created when the sun warms air so that it rises, which draws in cooler air as wind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Biblical preservation shows that the Bible is a supernatural book.  Many governments have tried to destroy the Bible, but it remains.  Communist governments tried to destroy the Church, but there are now more Christians in both China and Russia than ever before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visible changes in the lives of anyone who accepts God\u2019s offer of salvation through grace proves<\/em> that the Bible is the Word of God.  After Jesus showed Himself to the \u201cWoman at the Well, \u201cmany of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified \u2026 (Jn. 4:39)\u201d  As with Christians today, her testimony would make no sense unless people saw a change in her.  We see many cases where \u201cold things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (II Co. 5:17)\u201d to show God\u2019s transforming power as expressed in His Word.  Is this not the Word of God?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to Use this Book<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Question and answer is the most effective teaching method known, but using that method takes time, study, and deep care for the lives and souls of your students.  You must study the verses we listed above and pay close attention to their questions to make sure that each learner grasps the ideas and meanings of the words.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scripture Memorization<\/strong> Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.  (Psalm 119:11).  Either the Bible will keep you from sin or sin will keep you from the Bible.  God’s Word gets into hearts through memorization and meditation.  With careful encouragement, even young children can learn surprising amounts of Scripture.  Memorizing verses in the answers helps Christians know what they believe and why they believe it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sunday school <\/strong>Clarifying the ideas takes repetition.  If a child knows \u201cGod made me,\u201d ask \u201cWhat \/ Who is God?  Is God in a tree, or in a river?  Is God found in people?\u201d  So much animism is being taught that kids may not realize that the Lord is separate from His creation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even young people can memorize Genesis 1.  Understanding that God had an orderly plan when He made all things helps people believe that God has a plan for them.  Gen. 1 also teaches, \u201cGod said \u2026  and it was so.\u201d  Christians must know that if God says it, it\u2019s so<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Go to deeper questions as a believer\u2019s understanding develops.  Why should I give my life to giving God glory?  What has He done for me?  What does it mean to give God glory?  How do I do that?  Does God need our praise?   What does praising God do to me or for me?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Family Devotions<\/strong> can use the material to start discussions.  Parents\u2019 personal testimony and family experiences can support the principles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Children\u2019s Classes<\/strong> may not have time for the entire list, but the doctrines make good lessons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bible Study<\/strong> is more effective when it\u2019s organized and systematic.  The questions explain important doctrines which can be the starting points for deeper study; see the Doctrine Index.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What does it mean to be in God\u2019s image?  What is God\u2019s image?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why should I seek to obey God?  Why did God tell me to obey my parents?  This gets to the heart of theology.  A Christian who\u2019s convinced that God is good will search the Bible to understand His commands because obeying Him brings blessings.  Someone who doesn\u2019t think God is good searches the Bible for loopholes so they don\u2019t have to obey.  That\u2019s why evolution is so popular \u2013 if there is no God, it doesn\u2019t matter what He says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Does God have \u201ccreator\u2019s rights?\u201d  Can you put doors in your house wherever you want or must you follow rules of engineering so the house won\u2019t fall down?  Did God create the universe so that you\u2019ll be happier if you follow His rules, or will your life work out well if you ignore His rules?  We all know we can\u2019t ignore God\u2019s law of gravity.  Why, then, would we think we can ignore God\u2019s laws of marriage, society, government, and sin?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Questions<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

1)  Who made you?<\/strong>  God made me.
So God created man in his own image[1]<\/a>, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.  Genesis 1:27<\/strong>
The spirit[2]<\/a> of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty[3]<\/a> hath given me life.  Job 33:4<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

2)  What else did God make?<\/strong>  God made all things.
A class should memorize Genesis 1:1-31<\/strong> while memorizing the proof verses.
And God said, Let there be light and there was light.  Genesis 1:3<\/strong>
And God said, Let there be a firmament[4]<\/a> \u2026 and it was so.   Genesis 1:6<\/strong>

7)  How can you glorify God?  <\/strong>I can glorify God by loving Him and doing what He commands[14]<\/a>.

8)  Why ought you to glorify God?  <\/strong>a) He made me and takes care of me.  b) Glorifying Him makes me thankful for what He has given me instead of wanting what He has not given me.

12)  Who is God?  <\/strong>God is a spirit and does not have a body like man.

13)  What is God like?<\/strong>  God is infinite[31]<\/a>, eternal[32]<\/a>, and unchangeable.

14)  Where is God? <\/strong> God is everywhere.

16)  Does God know all things? <\/strong> Yes, nothing can be hidden from God.
For his eyes are upon the ways of man, and he seeth all his goings.  Job 34:21
<\/strong>Moreover the spirit lifted me up, and brought me unto the east gate of the LORD\u2019s house, which looketh eastward: and behold at the door of the gate five and twenty men; among whom I saw Jaazaniah the son of Azur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, princes of the people.  Ezekiel 11:1<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

17)  Can God do all things? <\/strong> Yes, God can do all His holy will.
But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.  Matthew 19:26<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

18)  Where do you learn to love and obey God? <\/strong> I learn to love and obey God in the Bible alone.
11<\/sup>For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off.  12<\/sup>It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?  13<\/sup>Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?  14<\/sup>But the word is very nigh[37]<\/a> unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.  15<\/sup>See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil;  16<\/sup>In that I command thee this day to love the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes[38]<\/a> and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess[39]<\/a> it.  Deuteronomy 30:11-16

19)  Who wrote the Bible? <\/strong> Holy men who were taught by the Holy Ghost wrote the Bible.
For the prophecy[41]<\/a> came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.  II Peter 1:21<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

20)  Who were our first parents? <\/strong> Adam and Eve were our first parents.
7<\/sup>And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul[42]<\/a>.  Genesis 2:7
