KING DAVID DID NOT R*PE BATHSHEBA<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On Twitter recently, there\u2019s a lot of talk about Bathsheba being raped. The Bible doesn\u2019t say she was raped, but I didn\u2019t have a strong opinion about it either way until I figured out that it was feminists spreading this rumor for the purpose of dismantling Patriarch. They will argue that men can\u2019t be the ones in authority since it usually results in abuse of some type. Therefore, they must do a lot of twisting of Scripture to come to this conclusion. These are false teachers. Mark and avoid them!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Someone shared a sermon by Pastor Chuck Swindoll called \u201cThe Case of the Open Window Shade.\u201d He preached on this very topic. I took notes. It was great!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

King David was a man of God before 2 Samuel 11 and after chapter 11, even though he had committed adultery and murder, yet his sin had long-term devasting effects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is no such thing as \u201csudden adultery.\u201d King David allowed chinks into his armor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first chink was that he took more concubines and wives into his harem. This is in direct contradiction to Scripture (1 Corinthians 7:2). These women turned the king\u2019s heart from the Lord and broke down his integrity. Polygamy was his first chink.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second chink was vulnerability. Everything was going his way. He was wealthy, famous, and successful in every area. It all began to go to his head.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The third chink was indulgence. He was in bed instead of on the battlefield. Our greatest battles aren\u2019t when we\u2019re working hard. They\u2019re when we have a lot of leisure time, and we\u2019re bored. Maybe, we can\u2019t sleep at night and make fateful decisions like King David did.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

King David was indulging himself beyond the place of wisdom. He decided to go walk out on his rooftop and spotted a very beautiful woman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The male\u2019s major source of sexual stimulation is visual, whereas the female\u2019s major source of sexual stimulation is touch. Women\u2019s physical appearance is a nemesis of a man. Women NEED to know this! God commands women to dress modestly and be shamefaced (not draw attention to oneself) for good reasons. Trust and obey Him, women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bathsheba was being foolish. She knew the King could see her bathing. She deliberately put temptation in his path.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pastor Swindoll then exhorted the women to give thought to what they wear and exhorted men to not linger. The Devil wants us to forget God at times when lust creeps in because then all good decisions forsake us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In times of temptation of flesh, FLEE! This is the only resistance to lust. If you don\u2019t flee, you\u2019ll fall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At this moment in King David\u2019s life, God was quite unreal to him. The Bible warns us to take heed lest we fall. You won\u2019t fall if you don\u2019t take a second look. (He\u2019s exhorting men here.) Flee instead of taking that second look or thought.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chuck Swindoll firmly believes that this was not a rape! The Bible said nothing about a struggle nor about it being a rape. She probably knew exactly what she was doing. The King was rich, powerful, and handsome. She wanted him! She was most likely lonely since her husband was in battle. Women are known for doing these things when lonely and bored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Remember, sin is only passing pleasures. The Devil makes sin look great at the time but hides the devasting consequences from one\u2019s mind. God\u2019s peace vanishes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bathsheba became pregnant. King David\u2019s peace vanished which led to deception, then hypocrisy, then murder. It\u2019s a tragic story of the consequences of lust giving way to death. Beware.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FLEE lust. It\u2019s the only biblical answer to lust. FLEE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.<\/strong><\/em>Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.<\/strong><\/em>
