Hi Roger, Yes, you haven’t heard from me for quite some time but I have been posting most of this year on Bible prophecy in the end times. I do it every second week because of my health and not being able to sit down at the computer for long periods of time. I do now post to around 150 various Christian groups. I don’t post directly just to one group but to all groups so some postings may not fit in with any particular group and what their mission mandate is. When God shares with me I just shared with others and may not fit that group’s mission mandate. For example: if I write a posting on “30 Signs Unique To Our Generation” it does not seem to fit into the mission mandate of your group “Warnings About Un-biblical Interpretation Of Bible Prophecy.” Another problem I have is that I do not type as in my generation men didn’t take up typing and I didn’t need it for my job so all the 200 or so postings that I’ve done over the past 4 1\/2 years and the various books, I had to rely on “Dragon Natural Speaking” a speech recognition software where I use a mic and it will do the typing for me. It’s not perfect as I have to do a lot of corrections but I make it work. This is why I do not use the King James version only because the speech recognition software does not recognize the Old English words and therefore I use the New King James Version, NIV, New American Standard and sometimes other versions that I feel bring the message across and is easier for people to understand. Personally, when I came to the Lord the only Bible I had was the King James version but I did find it difficult to understand and went to a simple Good News Translation which made it easier to comprehend and then later went on to the New King James version and the NIV. A certain Bible version does not make salvation it is the Holy Spirit that discerns the truth for us. It is the Holy Spirit’s job to convict us and teach us God’s word and reveals the truth of what God is trying to say to us. It is all of the workings of the Holy Spirit in our lives. This is why I’m not hung up on ONLY one version that can bring salvation to people’s lives \u2013 I don’t believe that it all. God is all powerful and can use anything and anyone to bring us unto Himself \u2013 it’s not the Bible version that counts but it is your heart that He seeks. I just looked at some 20 different versions of John 3:16 and the Holy Spirit can use any one of these versions to convict you that you are a sinner in need of salvation and in need of Christ Jesus. I don’t think that God would want us to put up roadblocks to His message of salvation by insisting that we read and study only the authorized King Version Bible. That is very legalistic like the Pharisees of Jesus’s time and is works oriented. I believe it is our job to just go out there and share God’s word with them \u2013 sharing with them what God has shared with us and if it happens to be a verse from the NIV which would make it easier for people to understand then that is what we do. In fact, multiple versions of the Bible can actually be in aid in understanding the message of the Bible \u2013 the best version is the version that the reader can most understand and feel comfortable with. Fierce loyalty to a particular version of the Bible is illogical and counterproductive. When the Bible was written, it was written in the common language of the people at that time. When the Bible is translated, it should be translated into how a people\/language group speaks\/reads at that time, not how it spoke hundreds of years ago. Frankly, what good is a Bible version if that particular person reading it is having a hard time understanding it \u2013 it makes no sense. When a person is choosing a Bible that they are going to study and read for themselves they should ultimately ask God for wisdom regarding which Bible version they desire to use. Ultimately, it is the Holy Spirit that teaches us Scripture regardless of what Bible version we are comfortable with. Our total dependence is on the Holy Spirit who is our teacher. You see Roger, our job is to go out and share with others what God has shared with us. It is not our business to tell people what version of the Bible they should be using as God can use any version to bring people to Himself. It is the Holy Spirit that convicts people that they are sinners in need of salvation not what version of the Bible they read. We have to just go out there and do our job, our commission from Jesus and that is to tell others about the gospel message and how God is working in our own lives. That’s it. Yes, I will send you some future postings that will fit in more with your mission statement but as you have read it will not be in the authorized King James version only. I mostly use the New King James version or the NIV. I’ll leave it up to the moderators as to they accept it or reject it. Take care Roger \u2013 it was nice to hear from you.
