“Children Learn From Fathers”<\/strong>
“And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but
bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.”
Ephesians 6:4<\/em>
According to Dr. T.B. Brazelton, a leading pediatrician, a
father that is active in the family will produce smarter and
happier children. He reports that an active dad, at home will
cause his children to be more successful at school, have a
better sense of humor, be more motivated and will have a
higher IQ by the age of seven. Another outstanding Christian
educator stated that Western Civilization stands at the
crossroads of survival and the deciding factor will be the
presence or absence of masculine leadership in homes.
Consider the following:
In Ephesians 6:4, the father should love God and lead by
example and not just words.
In I Timothy 5:8 and II Thessalonians 3:10, the father
should work and teach his children to work. He does not leave
mom to do all the work and perhaps if one doesn’t work, he
should not eat!
In Proverbs 3:12, the father will discipline in love, mercy
and grace. Children should learn the character of God by
watching their earthly father.
In Ephesians 5:25, boys learn the proper way to treat
women and what a marriage should be, by watching dad show
his love for mom.
In Matthew 6:9, children learn to pray by hearing their
earthly father pray.
In short, fathers have the most powerful influence over
their children’s lives for good or otherwise. How Are You
