Mark 9:44 – 49 Is This Inspired Scripture or Not?- 44. \u201cWHERE THEIR WORM DIETH NOT, AND THE FIRE IS NOT QUENCHED.45 And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, INTO THE FIRE THAT NEVER SHALL BE QUENCHED;46 WHERE THEIR WORM DIETH NOT, AND THE FIRE IS NOT QUENCHED.\u201d47 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell FIRE:48 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.49 For every one shall be salted with fire, AND EVERY SACRIFICE SHALL BE SALTED WITH SALT.All these capitalized words and Verses 9:44 and 46 are found in the Majority of all existing Greek manuscripts as well as A, D, E, F, G, H, K, M, N, S, U, V, X, Y, Theta, Pi, Sigma and Omega. It is also found in the Old Latin copies a; aur; b; c; d; ff2; g2; i; l; q; r1, the Latin Vulgate and the Clementine Vulgate, the Syriac Peshitta, Palestinian and Harclean, the Diatessaron the Ethiopic, Slavonic and the Gothic ancient versions. It is the reading in the Modern Greek Bibles used throughout the Greek speaking world in the Orthodox churches today.All these words were in the Wycliffe Bible of 1395, Tyndale 1525, Coverdale 1535, the Great Bible 1540, Matthew\u2019s Bible 1549, the Bishops\u2019 Bible 1568, the Geneva Bible 1587, Beza’s N.T. 1599 and the King James Bible of 1611.All the words are included in the Anglo-Saxon Gospels Corpus Christi Mss. 140 circa 1000 A.D. The NASB 1960 edition contained verses 44 and 46. Then 1973 edition entirely omitted these two verses from their text, but then in 1977 and again in 1995 they put them back in but this time [in brackets] indicating doubt as to their authenticity. And now once again, the NASB 2020 edition has entirely removed them again. So, NASB scholars, Are they inspired Scripture or not? Make up your minds please.Then the NASB informs us in their footnotes that these two verses \u201care omitted in the best ancient manuscripts\u201d. What they really mean is that they are omitted in Vaticanus and Sinaiticus, and if you want to know the true nature of these so called \u201coldest and best manuscripts\u201d simply take a look here to see what these \u201cbest Mss.\u201d are really like -The true character of the so called “Oldest and Best Manuscripts” Part One – Matthew thru Luke.https:\/\/brandplucked.webs.com\/oldest-and-best-one<\/a>The True Character of the so called “oldest and best” manuscripts Part Two – John to Revelation.https:\/\/brandplucked.webs.com\/oldest-and-best-part-2<\/a>The Catholic ConnectionThe verses were found without brackets in the former Catholic Douay-Rheims Bible of 1582 and 1899 and in the Catholic Douay of 1950.But since the Evangelicals made a formal agreement with the Vatican in forming the UBS critical texts under the supervision of the Vatican, the more modern Catholic versions like the St. Joseph NAB 1970 and the New Jerusalem Bible 1985 omit Mark 9:44 and 46 from their versions as do the RSV, ESV, NIV, NET and the Jehovah Witness New World Translation.However some normally “Critical Text” versions have now put verses 44 and 46 back in the text – New Century Version 2005, Holman Standard 2009, The Voice 2012, the ISV 2014 (International Standard Version), and The International Children’s Bible 2015 put the verses back in.Foreign Language Bibles -The verses are also included in Luther\u2019s German Bible 1545 and the German Elberfelder of 1905 and in the German Schlachter Bible 2000, the Italian Diodati 1649, the New Diodati of 1991 and the Italian Riveduta Bible 2006, the French Martin 1744, the Louis Segond 2007 and the French Ostervald of 1996, the Portuguese Almeida of 1681 and Almeida Corrigida 2009.The NIV in Foreign LanguagesEven though the English NIV omits these verses, yet the NIV Portuguese edition, Nova Vers\u00e3o Internacional 2000 includes them – 44. \u201conde o seu verme n\u00e3o morre, e o fogo n\u00e3o se apaga. 45 E se o seu p\u00e9 o fizer trope\u00e7ar, corte-o. \u00c9 melhor entrar na vida aleijado do que, tendo os dois p\u00e9s, ser lan\u00e7ado no inferno, 46 onde o seu verme n\u00e3o morre, e o fogo n\u00e3o se apaga.\u201dMark 9:44 and 46 are found in the Spanish Sagradas Escrituras of 1569, the Cipriano de Valera of 1602, the Reina Valera 1909, 1960, 1995, 2011, the Reina Valera Gomez of 2010 as well as the 1997 La Biblia de las Am\u00e9ricas\u201d put out by the Lockman Foundation, the same people who give us the fickle NASBs. – \u201c44donde el gusano de ellos no muere, y el fuego nunca se apaga. 45 Y si tu pie te fuere ocasi\u00f3n de caer, c\u00f3rtalo;
