The God of truth\u201d and \u201cthe word of truth\u201d versus the Bible agnostic\u2019s \u201creliable and faithful versions\u201d Some modern version promoters and King James Bible critics object to the term \u201cinerrancy\u201d when referring to the words of God, and try to justify their unbelief by statements like this one I received from a professing Christian who does not really believe that any bible in any language is the inerrant or 100% true words of God.He says: – Actually, the doctrine of inerrancy (using this specific term) is an invention of the 20th century. Up until then Christians believed (and that’s what many still believe) that God so inspired the human writers that what they wrote is a faithful and reliable record of His revelation.In any case, as I said before, the doctrine of inerrancy applies to the original autographs, not to any copies or translations from these copies. You are a theological Don Quijote tilting at windmills.\u201dMy Response -Well, if these multiple version users who have never seen \u201cthe original autographs\u201d a day in their lives, never read them, can\u2019t show them to anybody else and that even they know do not exist object to the term \u201cinerrant\u201d then how do they feel about the Biblical words \u201ctruth\u201d and \u201ctrue\u201d?These are God\u2019s words that he uses to describe both himself and his precious words. The King James Bible uses the words \u201ctruth\u201d and \u201ctrue\u201d some 300 times. So the truth seems to be something that is very important to God and should be to each of us who believe in him and in his inspired and preserved words of truth.Many times God refers to himself as \u201cthe true God\u201d – \u201cBut the LORD is the TRUE God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king.\u201d (Jeremiah 10:10)God says of himself \u201cHe is the Rock, his work is perfect: all his ways are judgment: A GOD OF TRUTH and without iniquity, just and right is he.\u201d (Deuteronomy 32:4)\u201cThou hast redeemed me, O LORD GOD OF TRUTH.\u201d (Psalm 31:5)\u201cAnd this is life eternal, that they might know thee THE ONLY TRUE GOD, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.\u201d (John 17:3)And of his precious words the Lord Jesus Christ says: \u201cSanctify them through THY TRUTH; THY WORD IS TRUTH.\u201d (John 17:17)\u201cTo this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the TRUTH. Every one that is of the TRUTH heareth my voice.\u201d (John 18:37)\u201cThy word is TRUE from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.\u201d (Psalms 119:160)And of course, of himself he famously says: \u201cI am the way, THE TRUTH, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father but by me.\u201d (John 14:6)\u201cYea, let God be TRUE, but every man a liar.\u201d (Romans 3:4)\u201cThese are the TRUE sayings of God\u201d (Revelation 19:9)\u201cFor these words are TRUE and faithful\u201d (Revelation 21:5)\u201cThese sayings are faithful and TRUE.\u201d (Revelation 22:6)Even AFTER you show them just a few of the many corruptions of both text and doctrines found in their favorite modern versions like these we will see in a moment, they will still come back and defend their bogus \u201cbibles\u201d by referring to them as \u201creliable and faithful\u201d. Reliable and faithful to WHAT?To those non-existent \u201coriginal autographs\u201d they have never seen that no longer exist?Many modern version proponents tell us \u201cNo Fundamental Doctrines Are Changed\u201d But this is not true at all. In direct contrast to the King James Bible, many modern versions teach the following false doctrines – God can be DECEIVED by men (NASB, NET, Legacy Standard Bible) https:\/\/brandplucked.webs.com\/ps7836deceivegod.htm<\/a> The Son of God had \u201cORIGINS from ancient times\u201d (NIV, ESV, NET) http:\/\/brandplucked.webs.com\/micah52heb211origin.htm<\/a> Satan controls the world (NIV, NASB, ESV, Holman, LSB) http:\/\/brandplucked.webs.com\/satanorgodcontrols.htm<\/a> The KJB teaches that “Messiah (was) cut off, but NOT FOR HIMSELF\u201d, but versions like the ESV, NIV, NASB teach that \u201cthe anointed one shall be cut off AND SHALL HAVE NOTHING.” http:\/\/brandplucked.webs.com\/dan926messiahcutoff.htm<\/a> Jesus LIED about what he was going to do. (ESV, NASB, NIV) http:\/\/brandplucked.webs.com\/john78didjesuslie.htm<\/a> There was a day when Jesus BECAME the Son of the Father (NIV, NET, Holman) http:\/\/brandplucked.webs.com\/acts1333thisdaybegotte.htm<\/a>Many modern versions teach that the robe of RIGHTEOUSNESS in which the bride is clothed is made up of the RIGHTEOUS ACTS of the saints. http:\/\/brandplucked.webs.com\/rev198finelinen.htm<\/a> Man can SPEED UP the coming of the day of God (NIV, ESV, LSB) http:\/\/brandplucked.webs.com\/2peter312hastingunto.htm<\/a>“the just shall live by his FAITH” or “the just shall live by his FAITHFULNESS”?KJB – “Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live BY HIS FAITH.”NIV 1978 and 1982 editions – “See, HE is puffed up; his desires are not upright – but the righteous will live BY HIS FAITH.”NIV 2011 (NET, Jehovah Witness NWT, Catholic Jerusalem bible) edition – “See, THE ENEMY is puffed up; his desires are not upright – but the righteous PERSON will live by HIS FAITHFULNESS.”There is a world of difference between the just living by faith and the just living by his faithfulness. The first is the principle of living by the faith God has given us to believe the gospel of the grace of God in redeeming us through the sacrifice of Christ on the cross. The second – “the just shall live by his FAITHFULNESS” – is to remove the entire focus away from what Christ has done for us and to place it on ourselves, our performance and our own works.The big theological question to ask is this – Does the just live by FAITH, meaning by what he believes about what God has done for us in Christ, or by his FAITHFULNESS, meaning how he lives?The whole Reformation began with God opening the eyes of Martin Luther when he read the passage “The just shall live by his FAITH.” He was finally freed from the heavy yoke of trying to obtain his own righteousness through the works and self merit system of the Roman Catholic Church.http:\/\/brandplucked.webs.com\/habakkuk24.htm<\/a> We should have nothing to do with a DIVISIVE person, (and Jesus himself was divisive but he was not a heretic.) http:\/\/brandplucked.webs.com\/hereticordivisive.htm<\/a>To see some other examples, go to \u201cFor ye have perverted the words of the living God, of the LORD of hosts our God.\u201d Jeremiah 23:36 https:\/\/brandplucked.webs.com\/fakebiblesdoctrine.htm<\/a>Historical Truth.Keep in mind -Chicago Statement on Inerrancy –https:\/\/brandplucked.webs.com\/chicagostate.htm<\/a>Notice one particular requirement they list for us that defines this non-existent, hypothetical, philosophical, mystical and not yet in print \u201cInerrant Scripture\u201d they keep wanting us to think they believe in. It\u2019s found in Article XII – \u201cWe deny that Biblical infallibility and inerrancy are limited to spiritual, religious, or redemptive themes, exclusive of ASSERTIONS IN THE FIELD OF HISTORY AND SCIENCE.”Example # 1.1 Samuel 6:19 – 50,070 men slain or only 70 or 75 or 70 men 50 chief men or 50 oxen of a man? Why we cannot trust the Bible commentators or the modern versions.1 Samuel 6:19 King James Bible (NASB, NET, NKJV, ISV) – “And he smote the men of Bethshemesh, because they had looked INTO the ark of the LORD, even he smote OF THE PEOPLE FIFTY THOUSAND AND THREESCORE AND TEN MEN: and the people lamented, because the LORD had smitten many of the people with a great slaughter.”ESV 2016 (NIV 2011, Catholic St. Joseph New American bible 1970, Catholic New Jerusalem 1985) – “He struck SEVENTY men of them, and the people mourned because the LORD had struck the people with a great blow.”Young’s “literal” translation reads: He smiteth among the people SEVENTY MEN – FIFTY CHIEF MEN.The Voice of 2012, one of the new Critical Text versions, actually says: God struck down 75 menThe Holman Christian Standard Bible 2009 has come up with a reading that is different from them all. The HCSB now says: “He struck down 70 men out of 50,000 men.”http:\/\/brandplucked.webs.com\/1sam61950070or70.htm<\/a>Example # 2.2 Samuel 15:7 forty years or four years?Here is another one where the “literal” NASB continues to change its text from one edition to the next.King James Bible (Revised Version 1885, ASV 1901, NASB 1972 – 1995 editions, Legacy Standard Bible 2021) – “And it came to pass AFTER FORTY YEARS, that Absalom said unto the king…”ESV, NIV, NET, NASB 2020 edition, Holman Standard, Catholic St. Joseph NAB, Catholic New Jerusalem, Jehovah Witness NWT 2013 revision – “And at THE END OF FOUR YEARS Absalom said to the king…”See why the KJB and the Hebrew text are right. Plus see the false footnotes found in many of these which change the Hebrew text.http:\/\/brandplucked.webs.com\/2sam15740or4year.htm<\/a>Example # 3.Luke 10:1,17 were there 70 sent out to preach (NASB 1963 to 1995 editions, NKJV, RV, ASV, RSV, NRSV, Holman, ISV, KJB, LSB 2021)or 72 sent out? (NASB 2020 edition, NIV, ESV, NET, St. Joseph NAB, Catholic New Jerusalem)Example # 4.Notice again in Matthew 18:22 the TWO different ESV translations of the same verse. The first 2 ESV editions followed the Greek text. The second 2 ESV just made up a number. The NASB changed its text too.or in Matthew 18:22 does the Lord say to forgive your brother not “until 7 times, but unto 70 times 7 times” 490 times – KJB, RV, ASV, NASB 1963 to 1995 editions, NKJV, RSV, ESV 2001, 2007 editions, ISV, Douay-Rheims, St. Joseph NAB, ALL Greek texts)or 77 times? (NASB 2020 edition, NRSV, NIV, ESV 2011, 2016 editions, Catholic New Jerusalem, Jehovah Witness New World Translation)Example # 5.JOHN 1:18KJB – “No man hath seen God at any time; THE ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.”NASB 1962 to 1995 editions – “No one has seen God at any time; THE ONLY BEGOTTEN GOD who is in the bosom of the Father, He has explained Him.”NASB 2020 edition has now changed its text once again after some 10 different editions. It now reads: \u201cNo one has seen God at any time; GOD THE ONLY SON, who is in the arms of the Father, He has explained Him.?\u201d – NO Greek text reads this way.ESV – “No one has every seen God; THE ONLY GOD, who is at the Father’s side, he has made him known.”NIV 1973 edition – “No man has ever seen God, but GOD THE ONLY SON, who is at the Father’s side, has made him known.NIV 1984 edition – “No one has ever seen God, but GOD THE ONE AND ONLY, who is at the Father’s side, has made him known.”NIV 2011 edition – “No one has ever seen God, but THE ONE AND ONLY SON, WHO IS HIMSELF GOD and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.”The reading followed by the NASB 1995 edition teaches that there are TWO Gods. Count ’em. There is the unseen God and then there is the only begotten God who declares the invisible God no one has seen.The new NASB 2020 now reads like the NIV 1973 edition, which they have twice since then rejected, and there is NO Greek text that reads “God the only Son.”The ESV is utter confusion and contradiction. There we have the unseen God, and then there is the only God, who makes the unseen God known. Hellooo…….Is anybody home in there?The NIVs have THREE different translations of this one verse, and the modern versions don’t even agree among themselves.https:\/\/brandplucked.webs.com\/john118begottenson.htm<\/a>Just pick one if you like and let us know which of these is an accurate copy of the originals. OK?Which of these is this \u201creliable and faithful translation\u201d the Bible agnostics so piously refer to? At what point does God start to tell us the TRUTH?We live in a day when \u201cTRUTH is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter.\u201d (Isaiah 59:14)And many are characterized in Scripture as being \u201cPerverse disputing of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of THE TRUTH\u201d (1 Timothy 6:5)\u201cWho concerning the TRUTH have erred\u201d (2 Timothy 2:18)\u201cSo do these also resist the TRUTH; men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.\u201d (2 Timothy 3:8)And 2 Timothy 4:3-4 clearly tells us: \u201cFor the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall TURN AWAY THEIR EARS FROM THE TRUTH\u201dSaints of God redeemed by the blood of the Lamb, if you want to have the complete and 100% true words of the living God, then get yourself a copy of the only Bible believed by multiple thousands to be the TRUE Standard of revealed and written truth.Reasons why the King James Bible is the absolute standard of written truth.God has born witness to the King James Bible in many ways through history both in its Christ exalting text and numerically and even geologically. No other Bible fits these characteristics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
