Last week, I asked the women on Instagram how feminism had influenced them. I shared how it influenced me: \u201cI automatically expected my husband to help with housework and was mad when he didn\u2019t. I expected him to meet my emotional needs. I wasn\u2019t submissive towards him at all for many years. I thought we were all supposed to go to college and have careers since making money was more important than making and raising babies (even though I didn\u2019t want to go to college nor have a career).\u201dWhen I was reading over these responses, I was thankful that they all had eyes to see the lies that they believed.\u201cIt made me think that I should be doing more than taking care of my children, husband, and home.\u201d\u201cI didn\u2019t submit which killed my family unit, made life sour for my children, and more.\u201d\u201cThat my career was to come before having children.\u201d\u201cI thought \u2018my body, my choice\u2019 in what I do with it.\u201d\u201cConvinced me to get a divorce when I was 24.\u201d\u201cExpecting him to romance me the way movie men do.\u201d\u201cExpecting equal load in the home.\u201d\u201cFeeling of shame for not contributing financially.\u201d\u201cI had the false mindset that I was infallible and only my husband made mistakes.\u201d\u201cDelayed marriage leading to living in sin beforehand and delayed having kids. I believe my biggest regret on my deathbed will be not getting married and having kids sooner. I\u2019ll never get that time back, and I\u2019ll always wish for more time with my family.\u201d\u201cI wanted to prove to men that they didn\u2019t need to open up doors for me or carry heavy things for me.\u201d\u201cMy value was in college, money, independence, and my place in church.\u201d\u201cThinking until my mid-20s that children were an \u2018option\u2019 and thought I didn\u2019t want them for a long time.\u201d\u201cI was on the pill for the first 17 years of our marriage. I went to university and was a teacher. We waited way too long to have babies. I was never taught to cook, clean, or sew. I put my first baby into child care at six months of age. Huge regret!\u201d\u201cYes, equal in housework, bringing in money, working, kids are a burden, and marriage is optional.\u201d\u201cMade me embarrassed for \u2018just\u2019 being a SAHM.\u201d\u201cSimilarly, I was so proud to go to college, teach other people\u2019s children, and institutionalize mine.\u201cOnly in negative ways. Made me prideful. Arrogant. Toxic. But Jesus healed me.\u201d\u201cTook out tons of debt for a career and put off having kids. God is redeeming my story now though.\u201d\u201cMade me work outside the home.\u201d\u201cI was immersed in feminism via public school growing up. I struggle daily with my expectations of my husband and myself. Doing my best now to undo but it\u2019s hard.\u201d\u201cMany things. The first I remember as a kid is feeling guilty for wanting to be a stay-at-home mom.\u201d\u201cI was told I had to go to college, get a degree and have a career. I always wanted to stay home.\u201d\u201cMy self-defensive attitude may have cost me one of the best relationships I\u2019ve ever had.\u201d\u201cMy mother made me believe having children would be a burden and ruin my life like it did hers.\u201d\u201cIt made me believe I had to depend on myself only. It was hard and very lonely.\u201d\u201cI was disrespectful to my husband and had a hard time with submission. I even questioned God about it.\u201d\u201cBasically your description. Since submitting to the Word, marriage is far better! God\u2019s ways are best.\u201d\u201cTo be an independent women who doesn\u2019t need anyone.\u201d\u201cIt\u2019s engrained in my thinking but God is rich in mercy and is renewing my mind and heart.\u201d\u201cWaited to get married for years so we could go to college.\u201d\u201cSadly, I chased my career and didn\u2019t put the time into relationships and children.\u201d\u201cSuffering from thousands of dollars in debt.\u201d\u201cHusband has wanted me to work even though his salary is enough.\u201d\u201cSelfish mentality that money is far more useful than raising immortal souls.\u201d\u201cDisrespecting my husband and making fun of him in public. I used to think it was a way to be playful.\u201d\u201cIt made me hate men and be an egotistical Jezebel.\u201d\u201cI used to not want kids and thought submission was terrible. I was SO wrong. It now influences me to want many babies and a godly marriage.\u201d\u201cI thought being a wife and mother were slavery. Now, that\u2019s all I want to be!\u201d\u201cI went to college and it ruined my relationship with my boyfriend and parents! I highly regret it.\u201d\u201cI went against my innate desire to have babies and waited way too long to meet a good man and start a family.\u201d\u201cSeparate bank accounts. Sharing home duties. Thank you, Lord, for convicting me.\u201d\u201cI went to college and have tremendous debt.\u201d\u201cI felt the pressure to find my purpose outside of the home and marriage which gave me so much unneeded stress.\u201d\u201cIt made motherhood unattractive, and I still fight this in my flesh. I hate this fight.\u201d\u201cAlways thought that being a SAHM meant you were lazy, dumb, weak, and dependent.\u201d\u201cFully bought into it and even majored in Women\u2019s Studies in college. Then, I woke to Truth!\u201d\u201cMade me think abortion was okay until Christ found me, and I became a believer!\u201d\u201cThinking my opinions outweigh his. Learning to be submissive was the hardest.\u201d\u201cI didn\u2019t have kids until my mid 30s because of my career. Regret it. Wish I could have had more.\u201d\u201cMade me lack joy first eight years of motherhood because I thought I should be doing something more.\u201d\u201cFeeling my feelings trumped everyone else\u2019s.\u201d\u201cI thought that I should NEVER do something my husband wants me to do if I didn\u2019t want to. LIES!\u201d\u201cMy family pushed college and career more than faith and motherhood.\u201d\u201cIt made me unsure of how to be a wife or even womanly. It made me argumentative and even fat.\u201d\u201cTaught to prioritize achievement and to excel in the workplace but not as a homemaker.\u201d\u201cI had two seven week abortions, and it was constantly putting me in the defense against my partner.\u201d\u201cI was an entitled victim in my marriage early on: passive aggressive and very controlling.\u201d\u201cThat living together before marriage was necessary.\u201d\u201cRaised by mom to think that women who don\u2019t work outside of the home are worthless!\u201d\u201cHe should be my perfect prince, and I can be demanding and lazy.\u201dStop listening to the lies of the enemy and our culture. Read and study God\u2019s Word instead. His ways are perfect!For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. Prior to the 1970s, Independent Baptist churches in general were spiritually stronger than today (though never strong enough, in our estimation), and one reason was that they were more careful about salvation.

CONCLUSION<\/strong>
Shallow, unscriptural soul winning and neglect of repentance have produced incredibly weak churches. It has produced churches that are mixed multitudes instead of churches of disciples.<\/strong>If professing Christians are rebels against God\u2019s Word and refuse to obey the preaching, refuse to be faithful, refuse to separate from the world, are insubordinate to pastoral authority, it is probably because they aren\u2019t saved. As we have seen, the Bible is very clear on this point. See, for example, <\/strong>John 8:47<\/a>; <\/strong>10:27<\/a>; <\/strong>Titus 1:16<\/a>; <\/strong>1 John 2:3-4<\/a>. <\/strong>Most churches are far too careless about salvation. They pronounce people, including children, saved on a mere profession with no regard for biblical evidence. <\/strong>Long ago I rejected this tradition. My sole authority for faith and practice is the Bible, and in the Bible we see an emphasis on genuine spiritual conversion with evidence. <\/strong>One of my first books was Does Salvation Make a Difference? For more than 40 years I have warned about the carelessness I have witnessed both in Southern Baptist and Independent Baptist churches. We want to follow the Bible, not human tradition, and the biblical example is <\/strong>Acts 2:41-42<\/a>. This is a description of a church of born again disciples. <\/strong>\u201cThen they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. And they continued stedfastly in the apostles\u2019 doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.\u201d<\/strong>

Winning the Lost<\/strong>God Depends on Us<\/strong>
God chose to give us, His people, responsibility for telling lost people how to be saved:Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20<\/sup>Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.  Matthew 28:19-20<\/strong>And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16<\/sup>He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.  Mark 16:15-16<\/strong>And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me. 45<\/sup>Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, 46<\/sup>And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: 47<\/sup>And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.  Luke 24:44-47<\/strong>Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. 22<\/sup>And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost: 23<\/sup>Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.  John 20:21-23<\/strong>The Holy Spirit inspired Paul to explain that we must convince people that they need to be saved in order to go to Heaven instead of being cast into Hell even if they\u2019re offended at being told they\u2019re sinners:Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men;  II Corinthians 5:11<\/strong>aFor do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.  Galatians 1:10<\/strong>The Message<\/strong>
We must use the Word of God because God\u2019s word is alive and powerful, not our words. We must convince sinners of their need for a savior before we can \u201cTeach them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you.\u201d This message discusses some of the objections which people may offer when you try to give them the gospel of repentance and salvation.It\u2019s easy to convince most people that they\u2019ve sinned by disobeying God. Did you ever disobey your parents? God commands you to obey your parents:Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.  Ephesians 6:1<\/strong>Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.  Colossians 3:20<\/strong>Did you ever take a cookie after your parents told you not to? You\u2019ve stolen:Thou shalt not steal.  Exodus 20:15<\/strong>Sinners generally say they\u2019re pretty good and try to convince themselves that God will let them into heaven because of all the good they do. We have to convince them of God\u2019s view of their sins:But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.  Isaiah 64:6<\/strong>As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: 11<\/sup>There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. 12<\/sup>They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.  Romans 3:10-12<\/strong>Being Drawn<\/strong>
The Bible tells us that God must draw people before they can be saved:No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.  John 6:44<\/strong>We have no way to know whether a person is being drawn or not, so we have to give the Word of God at every opportunity. We can pray that God will lead us to people whom He has drawn so that we can plant and water the Gospel, but it is God who gives the increase.When God draws a person, they may be aware that something is wrong without knowing why. That is the best opportunity for us to find out where they\u2019re thinking. These verses may help you overcome common problems.Common Objections<\/strong>MAY NOT REALLY BELIEVE IN GOD:<\/strong>In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.  Genesis 1:1<\/strong>The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.  Psalm 19:1<\/strong>The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.  Psalm 14:1<\/strong>The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God.
