We soon realized that God had given us something precious in our marriage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We spent the next 50 years trying to explain what God had in mind so others could enjoy the blessing God intended for every marriage. That&#8217;s what these books are about.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While growing up in Japan, I watched the Japanese use Confucian virtue to build from the wreckage of WW II to an economic colossus. My parents had no car. I was hit by cars 3 times my freshman year because cars move faster than bicycles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The automobile judges between the quick and the dead. I wasn&#8217;t quick; I nearly got dead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My brothers had a 220-day school year and got a telephone-book of homework every summer &#8220;vacation.&#8221; If you asked any grade-schooler the BIG problem facing Japan, you&#8217;d hear, &#8220;Exports!&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They got soft when the crisis abated.
