AdminTop Contributor  \u00b7 29m<\/a> 12\/15\/23 \u00b7 I’ve heard and read, that one of the first things that a communist regime does when they take over a country is to line up all the highly educated people (who don’t follow them) and shoot them because they know too much and cause trouble! Now… I know that there are several types of learning, education, intelligence, and common sense! What do they know that all of us ‘commoners’ who operate things, build things, fix things, and keep everything running don’t know? My brother had several degrees including a Ph.D. in Spanish Historical Linguistics, philosophy, and three or more languages, and called our parents peasants and called me nothing but a technologist! He ended up professing to be a socialist\/communist! To explain also, he served in Vietnam<\/a> as a Marine Radioman and was attached to a (ANGLICO<\/strong>) group supporting South Korean Troops and teaching English to them. He died about 5 years ago with the Camp Lajune symptoms and was a professing atheist on his deathbed! He led a very difficult life for most of his life, to say the least. PTSD no doubt and I think confusion, because we were brought up in a small farming community on a farm near Decatur, Illinois. We were brought up in the Oakley Brick Church of the Brethren and attended service there as long as we were home prior to attending Manchester College for two years before joining the Navy and Marines respectively. I do know, from what he told me, that he saw some terrible things in his ‘Tour of Duty’. Almost unspeakable things! Combat is nasty stuff and saw his share. I took the easy way out and served on a Hunter-Killer Fast Attack submarine… USS Pargo SSN(650) IC1(SS) Nuclear Power Plant Operator! The SCORPION went down in May 1968 when I was in Submarine School in Groton, Connecticut. My wife and I were engaged at the time! I never told her about it at the time and for years after that!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
