BEING MARRIED<\/a>And Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah\u2019s tent, and took Rebekah, and she became his wife; and he loved her: and Isaac was comforted after his mother\u2019s death.  Genesis 24:671.   Isaac supplied the tent. A man\u2019s proposal to a woman that doesn\u2019t include food, clothing, and shelter isn\u2019t biblical. If a man can\u2019t pay for her, all he can do is play with her. That never ends well.2.   She became his wife, not his girlfriend \u2013 they both made public marriage vows before he took her.3.   Isaac loved Rebekah and then he was comforted. God gave every wife the ability to comfort her husband, but comforting a man is emotionally exhausting. Being convinced that he loves her renews her emotional energy so she can keep comforting him. This requires a lot of daily detailed praise and appreciation by both husband and wife as taught in the Song of Solomon (Song 1:2[527]<\/a>).ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE<\/a>Because thou servedst not the LORD thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things; 48<\/sup>Therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies which the LORD shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee.  Deuteronomy 28:47-48A man limits his wife\u2019s ability to make him happy if he limits his appreciation of everything about her.GETTING MARRIED<\/a>And Jacob said unto Laban, Give me my wife, for my days are fulfilled, that I may go in unto her.  Genesis 29:21Then said she, Sit still, my daughter, until thou know how the matter will fall: for the man will not be in rest, until he have finished the thing this day.  Ruth 3:18 The best advice on getting married there is.Boaz wasn\u2019t thinking of marriage, but when Ruth suggested it, it was such a good idea he ran out the very next morning and married her. Why? Because he wanted her. If a woman gives a man rest outside marriage, her value falls (Pr. 31:10[528]<\/a>). What would marriage give that he doesn\u2019t have? Why take on responsibility?DWELLING ACCORDING TO KNOWLEDGE<\/a>Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; he didn\u2019t criticize her.A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.  Proverbs 17:22A husband\u2019s criticism dries his wife\u2019s bones and can shorten her life. Praise helps her live longer.GOD SPEAKS TO WOMEN<\/a>When he was set down on the judgment seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, Have thou nothing to do with that just man: for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him.  Matthew 27:19Pilate\u2019s wife expected him to value her dream. He should have let the help meet God gave help him.WIFE RESPECTS HER HUSBAND<\/a> AND GUIDES HIS HOUSE<\/strong>Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. 33<\/sup>Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; First they will contact your government (family), sign professional contracts (marriage) and extract it professionally (conjugal life).
But if you let your precious minerals lie on the surface of the earth, you will always attract a large number of illegal miners to come, explore and illegally take those riches.
Dress Up Pretty, But Decent! You can dress to be chased or you can dress to stay chaste. Only one honors God. Only one honors yourself, and only one will attract an honorable man.

Pastors Teaching God-Ordained Holy Matrimony<\/strong>
Christians must be taught how to bring about God-honoring marriages that give both parties a taste of the joys of Heaven as God intended. Marriage is simple \u2013 the Bible describes marriage in one verse. You can explain both marriage and salvation in one minute. You can show how a joyful marriage operates in two words<\/em>.
God-honoring marriage brings men and women joy in this life (Gal. 5:22-23, Eph. 5:9), shows lost people the blessings of following He<\/em> commands (Du. 4:6-8, Du. 30:9-10, 16), and helps His servants raise children to serve Him (Mal. 2:15).Christians show Christ to unbelievers (2 Cor. 5:20). Romans 7:4 uses the word \u201cmarried\u201d to describe the permanent tie between a born-again Christian and Christ. Holy<\/em> Matrimony is powerful testimony. Christian husbands nourishing and cherishing their wives shows the lost how Christ blesses His people. Christian wives honoring and obeying their husbands show how Christians follow Christ. Christian divorce damages the picture of Christ\u2019s care for us. When lost people see that we can\u2019t handle this life any better than they, why should they care what we say about the life to come?
Hear the Voice of the Bridegroom<\/em>
John the Baptist\u2019s message was like a pastor\u2019s message to a church. John could have been jealous heard that Jesus\u2019 disciples were baptizing and that \u201call men come to him (Jn. 3:26),\u201d but he humbly explained his God-given role:
Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him. He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled. He must increase, but I must decrease. John 3:28-30
God sent John before<\/em> Christ. The church is the bride and Jesus is the bridegroom in the \u201cmarriage supper of the Lamb (2 Cor. 11:2, Rev. 19:9).\u201d John couldn\u2019t preach our Gospel of Jesus\u2019 death, burial, and resurrection because it hadn\u2019t happened yet; his Gospel of Repentance proclaimed the Messiah. If Jews had accepted Christ as Messiah, they\u2019d have been married to Him as Christians are today (Rom. 7:4). As the friend of the Bridegroom, John heard \u201cthe bridegroom’s voice (Jn. 3:29)\u201d which filled him with joy.
As Abraham and Moses were friends of God (Ex. 33:11, 2 Chr. 20:7, Is. 41:8), pastors are called by God to be friends of the Bridegroom. As Christ\u2019s friend, you rejoice<\/em> as Christ speaks to you and to your people through your messages, Bible reading, and prayer. Christ must increase in us as we crucify the flesh in our lives (Eph. 4:22, Col. 3:9). Growth in Christ from hearing the Bridegroom continues the \u201cgood work\u201d that begins when we accept the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior and continues \u201cuntil the day of Jesus Christ (Phil. 1:6).\u201d
This is how we \u201cDraw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you (Jam. 4:8).\u201d We<\/em> make the first move in asking Him<\/em> to increase so that we<\/em> can decrease. Increasing Him helps us enjoy the Fruit of the Spirit:
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. Galatians 5:22-24
Christ increases in us as we crucify the flesh. All our relationships: marriage, church, and work, improve as we grow in love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance.
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5-6
