\u200b\u200b\u200bYielding To Temptations… Why We Do It?     <\/strong>
There will always be temptations vying for our hearts. Sometimes they are subtle and sometimes they are obvious. Though we are not free from temptations; we are free from the bondage it breeds. The devil will often use fiery darts that consume (as fire does) our mind. These fiery darts come in the form of: a lie, a thought of rejection, wrong doctrine, a deprecating thought, etc.

The classic symptom that a Believer has yielded to temptation is discouragement.<\/strong>  Christians who are perpetually discouraged are the most difficult to influence for the glory of God and the furtherance of the gospel of Jesus Christ<\/a>.

The only abiding reality and sanity is Christ Jesus. The Christian who acknowledges this to be so, is a Christian who is poised to over come temptations of any strength.<\/strong>  Overcoming temptations cannot be realized in our finite strength…  it is God doing for us what only He can do for us… transform us to the likeness of His Son Jesus Christ.  The alternative is lingering thoughts of trying to defend and feed our carnal tendencies. This explains why many Christians are woefully discouraged, even dissatisfied with God.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Overcoming Temptation.  How?<\/strong>
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why are so many Christians, both male and female falling to immoral sin?  The number one reason why Christians yield to temptations is because so much of what  tempts us is what we allow to tempt us. <\/strong>  This is why Jesus said: watch and pray that ye enter not into temptation<\/em> (Matthew 26:41a). As we habitually pray<\/a> and hide the Word of God in our hearts, we become increasingly sensitive to the vices of  our own enmity and the devices of the devil and the world that would tempt us to act contrary to the will of God<\/a>.

Knowing the fact that Jesus Christ is our Shepherd, will keep us from over-reacting to over-whelming pressure in a superficial way. The world’s answer to pain, pressure and suffering is to look for someone to blame, develop a deep desire to escape, deny the problem, or fall into depression. These are not habits we can afford to live with. Outlandish odds will press against you.  Purposefully lay aside everything that competes for your affection and devotion to Christ. This is a matter of discipline. 

The key to overcoming temptation is the reality and reliability of God’s Word.  The Holy Spirit<\/a> will never direct us contrary to the Word of God.  Thus, the fundamental concern for the believer is to understand the Word of God as the only means for direction. The Bible is the only resolve that instills a pure ambition for the glory of God.  Hiding God’s Word in our hearts is the only way of being victorious against the vices of Satan and the inclinations of the flesh.   After all: Jesus Christ is all that matters<\/strong>. AMEN!
